Page FOUR, Column 8DEATH TAKES WILLIAM BYER
William BYER, 74, well known Fairfield resident, passed away last evening at 5:45 at his home, 203 E. Grimes, following an illness of seven weeks.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, at 2:00 p.m. from the Weston Behner funeral home, with Rev. C. T. Wiese officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the hour of the service.
Mr. BYER was born in Mason County, West Virginia on March 11, 1870 the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth BYER. He had lived in Fairfield for the past seventeen years and previous to that on a farm east of Fairfield. He was a painter, carpenter and mason.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ada WEST BYER; one daughter, Mrs. Clara P. WILSON, both of Fairfield; and four grandchildren.

WILLIAM BYER
William BYER was born March 11, 1870 in Mason county, West Virginia, and passed away in September 15, 1944 at his home, 203 E. Grimes street, Fairfield, Iowa, at the age of 74 years.
He come (sic) to Iowa at the age of 10 with his parents, two brothers and five sisters all of whom preceded him in death. On February 2, 1896 he was united in marriage to Cinderella BRIER, who passed away in October, 1935. They were the parents of one daughter, Mrs. Glenn WILSON, 504 North C street, Fairfield.
In August 1940 he was married to Ada WEST, who survives. Also surviving besides his wife and daughter are four grandchildren, Glen Keith, Marie, Evelyn and Donald WILSON; two step-daughters, Mrs. Elsie STOKER and Mrs. Ruth GESLING, Fairfield and three step-grandchildren, Frances and Billy STOKER and Stanley GESLING.
Funeral services wre held at the Weston Behner funeral home on September 19, conducted by Rev. C. T. Wiese, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene. Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Clapp, William Johnson, Elmer Abbey, John Weygandt, Donald Johnson and W. C. Hoswell.

Public Notice Is Hereby Given:
That the undersigned has this day been appointed and commissioned by the District Court of Jefferson County, in the State of Iowa, executrix of the estate of William BYER, Deceased.
All persons having claims against said estate are hereby notified to file them with the Clerk of said court, clearly stated and duly sworn to, and within legal time, preparatory to their being allowed or proved, and persons owing said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned and avoid costs.
