Victor Jay MALLINGER Sr.

Victor Jay MALLINGER Sr., 52, 800 W. Broadway Ave., died at 9:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the MALLINGER family.

MALLINGER was born Aug. 14, 1945, in Richland, the son of Llewelleyn "Friday" and Leoma Faye RUSSELL MALLINGER. He married Violet "Vicky" LaFern HOAGE on July 28, 1962, in Fairfield. He had lived in the Fairfield area all his life. He was a family man who enjoyed fixing things around the house. He worked as a machinist at Mason and Hanger Ordnance in Middletown for the past 12 years.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Victor Jay Jr. of Fairfield; one daughter, Veronica T. "Theresa" NEWBOLD of Fairfield; four grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert "Gib" of Clarinda; one step-sister, Virginia PETERS of Long Grove; one step-brother, Dennis MERCER of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; step-mother, Gladys MALLINGER; and step-brother, Darrel MERCER.
