August 18, 1981William HALL dies
William H. HALL, 65, former Fairfield businessman, died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
He entered University Hospital Aug. 7 for heart surgery when complications followed.
HALL had lived in the Fairfield Community for 26 years, coming from Keota. He was owner of the Fairfield Industrial Supply Co. for 17 years, he had served as past-president of the Fairfield Community Fund and had served on the City Planning and Zoning Commission.
He was a veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Lions Club and Elks Club, and a member of the United Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder and Sunday School teacher.
Services for HALL will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl B. Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
William H. HALL was born Sept. 27, 1915, south of Fairfield. He was the son of Vern and Emma HALFERTY HALL. His marriage to Oral E. CARTER took place Oct. 20, 1946, in Fairfield. The family home is at 1006 E. Jefferson.
In addition to his widow, HALL is survived by two daughters and a son: Sue and Maggie Ann HALL, both of Dallas, Texas, and Mark HALL, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by one son (sic. Robert Carter HALL, 1950-1955).
