Glenn Edwin WAMSLEY

Glenn Edwin WAMSLEY, 85, of Burlington, died at 8:05 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

A service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church, with the Rev. LeRoy Bradway officiating and Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard conducting military rites. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is from noon until 7:30 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will be present from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Mr. WAMSLEY was born June 13, 1925, in Fairfield, the son of Myrtle WAMSLEY. He married Marjaleen Ruth HILLMAN July 2, 1944. She died Oct. 19, 2006.

Mr. WAMSLEY worked at several locations, including Campbell Chain and Breck. He retired from the Winegard Company as a tool and die maker.

Mr. WAMSLEY was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps.

He was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sons, Ricky WAMSLEY of Carman, Ill., James WAMSLEY of Pfafftown, N.C., and Dennis WAMSLEY of Conroe, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Margie BIRMINGHAM of Coal Valley, Ill., and Edith WRIGHT of East Moline, Ill.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Betty GUSTAFSON.
