MCCRACKEN, BRAY, COFFIN, LOCK

"Mrs. Sumner McCracken, longtime Jefferson County resident, died about 1:30 p.m. Mon. at the Jefferson County Hospital. She was the mother of Paul McCracken, Washington, D.C., chairman of President Nixon's Council of Economic Advisers. Funeral services will be Thurs. 2 p.m. at Woolson Friends Church with Rev. Naomi Lock officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. Gould Funeral Home in Richland. Mary McCracken was born July 19 1887 near Pleasant Plain, dau. of Jeremiah and Martha Bray Coffin. She attended Pleasant Plain Academy and Penn College and taught school for a number of years; member Woolson Friends Church where she was a Sunday School teacher; member Women's Missionary Society; WCTU; and a clerk of the Pleasant Plain Quarterly Meeting for a number of years. Married to Sumner McCracken at the home of her parents March 2 1910. She spent her entire life in Jefferson County; celebrated 60th wedding anniverary recently. Survived by husband and two sons: Clyde McCracken, Fairfield, and Paul, Washington, D.C.; 6 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Mankato, Minn. Preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers and two sisters."
