"Mrs. Leonard (Tirza McCracken) Mealey, 76, of Whittier, Calif., died Thurs. Oct 12 in Whittier. Rufus McCracken and Mrs. Clarence Ferguson of Richland were in Whittier for funeral services and burial. Daughter of William & Rebecca McCracken, born near Richland Aug 31 1891. Educated in local schools and Pleasant Plain Academy. In Oct. 1910 she and her father, William McCracken, were involved in a train accident from which she never entirely recovered (train accident north of Fairfield) and since that time remained a cripple; married Oct 14 1911 Leonard Mealey and they lived in the Richland community until 1948 when they moved to Whittier in 1949. Survived by husband, a foster daughter, Mrs. Carmen Anderson of Linwood, Calif.; 3 grandchildren and three brothers, Dymond, Sumner and Rufus McCracken, all near Richland. Preceded by five brothers."
