"RICHLAND. Duane McCracken, 73, Mankato, Minn., died Wed. while vacationing at Grand Marias, Minn. Former resident of Richland. . . . .Born in Jefferson County Apr 8 1894, son of William and Rebecca Jones McCracken. Attended school in Richland and grad. Wm. Penn College in 1918; Dr.'s degree from Univ. of Minnesota; married Artalissa Coffin in 1920. A retired educator, he served on the faculties of the University of Minnesota and Mankato State College. Surviving are widow, one daughter, Mrs. Tryge (Doris May) Helleloid, Springfield, Minn., and three grandchildren; also three brothers, Dymond, Sumner and Rufus McCracken, all of Richland; and one sister, Mrs. S. L. Mealey, Whittier, Calif. Four brothers are deceased."
