"Hiram McCracken died at his home in Black Hawk township this county at 3 o'clock a.m. Tues. Oct. 15, aged 67-7-12. Funeral at Pleasant Plain. Born in Morgan Co., Ind., and settled near Pleasant Plain in 1843. An earnest member of the Friends church from early youth. His aged wife, four sons and four daughters survive him."
