"James McCracken, son of Henry and Mary Ann, born Feb 14 1838 near Mooresville, Morgan Co., Ind., died at his home near Brighton, Iowa Sept 23. In 1843 came with his parents to Iowa and settled near Brighton. . . . .died Wed. Sept. 23. Funeral at Friends church in Pleasant Plain; burial in the cemetery there."
