"PLEASANT PLAIN. Mr. John Jones aged 84 years, died at the residence of Mr. James E. Hoskins northwest of Pleasant Plain Jan. 5 and was buried the 6th. He was one of Iowa's oldest settlers, coming to Iowa in 1883 (1838). (He left a will.)"
