Was suddenly stricken while he was employed at Coenders’

Levi (Shorty) WILTSIE, 305 East Hempstead street, about 55 years of age, dropped dead suddenly about noon while at his work at the Coenders Greenhouse.

Mr. WILTSIE’s brother-in-law Art C. KELLER was working beside him when he heard a noise and discovered that Mr. WILTSIE had slumped over on the ground, it was stated.

A physician was immediately called, but it was thought that death had come almost instantly.

Mr. WILTSIE is survived by his wife and a nephew Ervin A. MITCHELL both of Fairfield. The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home pending funeral arrangements.

He had alternated his work between the Coenders Greenhouse and the White T store for the past four or five years. He had been steadily employed at the former place since the spring of this year.

*Transcribed for genealogy purposes; I have no relation to the person(s) mentioned.

Note: Levi’s wife was Velma V. KELLER who died in 1958. They are buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, on Lot 2nd.138.
