MRS. STAATS, 83, IS DEAD

Had resided in Fairfield for 21 years; services Thursday

Amanda Ellen STAATS, 83, well known Fairfield resident, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Monday afternoon at her home, 604 South Second street. Mrs. STAATS had been a resident of this city for 21 years.

She had been in ailing health the last two years and seriously ill the last two weeks. She was born October 20, 1855 in Jefferson county.

Mrs. STAATS is survived by six children, Mrs. R. C. WHITTINGTON of Birmingham, and Mrs. Otis ANDERSON, Mrs. Charles BAKER, Mrs. Bert DAY, and Mrs. A. L. McINTIRE, all of Fairfield, and W. L. TRAIL of Richland.

She is also survived by two brothers, Al and George BRAY, both of Richland; a sister Mrs. James RICE of Richland, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Hoskins Funeral Home, Thursday March 23 at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. S. P. Williamson.

Note: She was first married to William E. TRAIL and is buried with him in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, on Lot 3rd.104. Her second husband, Chester STAATS, is buried in Meadville, MO.
