Mrs. D. A. RICKETTS

Maude Edna McCLAIN RICKETTS who was born Nov. 16, 1880 at Beckwith, Iowa, was the daughter of Marshal McCLAIN and Mary McCORMICK McCLAIN. Her early childhood was spent in the Beckwith and Fairfield vicinity. She attended Fairfield high school and later studied music in Fairfield.

She was united in marriage Feb. __ (column trimmed a bit close), 1900 to David Alter RICKETTS who preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1954. To this union were born the following children: Robert E. RICKETTS, New York, New York; Ruth HOWLAND (Mrs. B. T.) of Denver, Colorado; Helen KREBILL (Mrs. Lloyd), Fort Dodge, Iowa; Alice JOHNSON (Mrs. Harold) of Washington, Iowa, Catherine CARRIS (Mrs. Herbert N.), Mankato, Minn.; Charles RICKETTS of Marshalltown, Iowa.

She has the following grandchildren: Elizabeth HOWLAND of Denver, Colorado, David KREBILL of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Carol KREBILL SHANNON, Mrs. Robert SHANNON of Des Moines, Iowa; Stephen and Jean JOHNSON of Washington, Iowa; Thomas, John, and Robert CARRIS of Mankato, Minnesota; and David C. RICKETTS of Marshalltown, Iowa.

She is also survived by one brother, Mac DAVIS of Fairfield, Iowa.

Associations with family, relatives, friends and church filled her always busy days. Her love of family, friends, optimism, faith leaves a cherished memory for those who love her.

She passed away March 30, 1957 in Fairfield, Iowa, where she had spent most of her seventy-six years.
