JOHN MILLANE DIED SUDDENLY LAST EVENING

Was Well Known in Jefferson County; Lived Near Here 39 Years

John MILLANE, a well known Jefferson county farmer, died suddenly early last evening at his home, five miles northwest of Fairfield. He had been in poor health for two years, but attended the sale yesterday at the Russell Smith farm. It was there that he took sick and was taken to his home, where he lived but a few hours.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock Monday morning from the St. Mary’s Catholic church in charge of Rev. Father E. F. Gaule. Interment in Evergreen cemetery. Friends may call at the MILLANE home as the casket will not be opened at the church.

Mr. MILLANE was born March 1, 1865. He has resided on his present farm for the past thirty-nine years. Besides his wife he leaves the following children: Mrs. A. J. ARNDT and John MILLANE, Jr., both of Fairfield; Anna and James and William, at home; Sister Madonna of Ottumwa, Sis-Carmelith (sic) of Nevada, Mo., and Theressa of Washington, D. C. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters, James MILLANE, of Chester, Neb.; Cornelius MILLANE of LaReda, Texas; Frank MILLANE of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. James BARTCH of Waterloo and Mrs. Thomas DWYER of Fairfield, and also seven grandchildren.

Note: John’s wife was Frances KASPRZYKOWSKI who died in 1946. They are buried in Lot 3rd.178.
