Mrs. MAXWELL Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Charles H. MAXWELL, who came to Fairfield Saturday to spend Christmas with relatives here for the first time in several years, passed away yesterday at the Jefferson County hospital shortly after her arrival here.

Their home is at Rogers, Ark., where they moved last February after his retirement from the post office in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. MAXWELL arrived Saturday and she entered the hospital Sunday with a heart ailment. She died at 2 p.m. Monday 17 hours after she was admitted as a patient.

Last rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with Dr. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Keith (sic – Keitha) May MAXWELL, 60, was born Oct. 13, 1897, in Washington county, Iowa, the daughter of the late A. L. and Amanda CRAIG ARMSTRONG. She was united in marriage on Feb. 22, 1920, to Chales (sic – Charles) H. MAXWELL at Milton, Iowa.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Rogers, Ark.; and the Eastern Star at Chicago.

Besides her husband she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Grace NICHOLS, Fairfield, and Mrs. Carrie GODWIN, Fairfield. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Charles MAXWELL is the son of the late Ray H. MAXWELL, former well known Fairfield grocer. The father was taken to his son’s home in Rogers last March where he planned to make his home, but he died shortly after his arrival there.
