Well Known Van Buren County Man Died Sat. In Ottumwa
Funeral services for Charles Louis HOSETTE, former resident of Jefferson county, and Van Buren county farmer near Stockport, were held this morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church in charge of the Rev. E. F. Gaule.
Mr. HOSETTE died Saturday evening in the St. Joseph’s hospital in Ottumwa. He had been ill and in the hospital for nine days. Death followed an operation for appendicitis. He was 59 years old, and was born and grew to manhood in Jefferson county.
Mr. and Mrs. HOSETTE moved near Stockport about 23 years ago. He was a well known farmer in that county, and leaves a large circle of friends in the two adjoining counties.
He is survived by his wife and six children, all of whom are living.
His children are:
Bertha HOSETTE of Ft. Madison Bernard HOSETTE of Ottumwa; Mrs. Lester WORKMAN of Stockport; and Josephine, Rollin, and Verne all at home.
He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Joseph BAILEY, and a half sister and brother, Mrs. Joseph S. DROZ of Cedar Township in this county, and J. E. PRINCE of near Beckwith. There are two grandchildren, and many other relatives.
The pall bearers were Roy Crawford, Ben Williams, Harry Mahon, Harold Donald, Ray Donald and Chester Stipes.
Many people attended the funeral services, a number coming from Stockport and the surrounding vicinity.
