MRS. O. A. ESTES, WELL-KNOWN IN CITY, IS DEAD
Former Fairfield woman dies suddenly near Packwood

Tressa KRUM ESTES, 45, well-known Fairfield club woman, died suddenly at 6:45 a.m. today at her home five miles northwest of Packwood.

She was taken ill with influenza Thanksgiving day and recently had been seriously ill as the influenza developed into pneumonia.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church in Fairfield in charge of Dr. M. A. Gable. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, O. A. ESTES of Packwood; her mother, Mrs. D. R. WAY of Fairfield, and by two brothers, Wilbur WAY of Chicago and Ira D. WAY of Chicago. Mrs. ESTES was born Oct. 25 1889 in Iowa.

She was president of the women’s auxiliary of the American Legion until her marriage to Mr. ESTES only last Nov. 1. She was also a member of the Philathea class of the First Methodist church, the W. R. C., and many other welfare and civic organizations. The body was taken to Hoskins Funeral Home.

PHILATHEA MEMBERS

The Philathea class of the Methidost church will meet on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. in the lobby of the church, to attend the funeral of Mrs. Tressa KRUM ESTES, which will be held in the Methodist church Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2:00 o'clock. All members are asked to be present.

LEGION AUXILIARY

George Schraeder, Commander of the American Legion, and Mrs. Lee Odum, president of the Legion Auxiliary are asking that all members of the American Legion and the Auxiliary meet at the south entrance of the Methodist church at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Tressa KRUM ESTES which will be held at 2:00 o'clock. ...

The body will be taken from Hoskins Funeral Home at 1 p.m. and will lie in state at the church until the services.

BIRMINGHAM, Dec. 13-- Mr. and Mrs. Reid Bogle and son William, Mrs. Clarence Caves, Mrs. Grant McKee and son Lester, Mrs. Eliza Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. Gar Baldwin, of Birmingham, attended the funeral services of Mrs. Tressa KRUM ESTES, of near Packwood, which was held at the First Methodist church in Fairfield on Sunday afternoon. ...

LEGION AUXILIARY MET

... Short memorial services were held for the Auxiliary's past president, Tressa KRUM ESTES. A social hour followed. There were piano selections, both solos and duets by Miss Caroline Reichstein and Miss Virginia Johnson; a reading by Mrs. Clara Hammond; a clarinet solo by John Paul Mullenix; and a cornet solo by Carroll Johnson. The program was arranged by Mrs. Harry Mullenix and Mrs. Emil Reichstein. ...
