January 5, 1937C. A. HUFFMAN DIES SUDDENLY
Funeral Services To Be Wednesday At 1:30 p.m. Burial in Ottumwa
C. A. HUFFMAN, more commonly known as “Butch” and a well-known Fairfield resident, passed away suddenly at his home, 608 S. Fourth st., at 11:30 last night.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Hoskins Funeral home, in charge of the K. of P. lodge of which he was a member. Burial will be in an Ottumwa cemetery.
Mr. HUFFMAN was a butcher by trade, having followed that line of work for about 40 years. Nineteen years ago he came to Fairfield and for a number of years thereafter he was employed in the J. D. Scothorn Grocery in New Chicago. Later he was employed in the Walter Harris Market. He was an active member of Forest City Lodge No. 37 Knights of Pythias.
Charles Alvin HUFFMAN was born June 2, 1875, in Davis county. He is survived by his wife and one adopted son, Willoughby. Three children preceded him in death. Surviving also are two brothers Orval of Los Angeles Calif. and J. C. of Cedar Falls.
