Glen CARR

Glen CARR, 73, of rural Batavia died at 6:20 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Wapello/Davis Counties Hospice House in Ottumwa.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Fell Cemetery, southwest of Libertyville, with the Rev. Ann Donat officiating.

Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the family present from 4-6 p.m.

Memorials to hospice of Wapello/Davis Counties may be left at the funeral home, taken to the service or mailed to the family at 1235 230th St., Batavia 52533.

Mr. CARR was born Jan. 27, 1937, near Douds, the son of Clyde and Edna STEELE CARR.

Mr. CARR grew up in the Douds and Libertyville area and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1955. He farmed hear Douds and Batavia and with Roger Franklin near Eldon. Mr. CARR had worked for Libertyville Co-op and had drove truck (sic) for Ben Shinn Trucking Co. of Eddyville.

Mr. CARR served in the United States Army, including service in Germany, from 1957-1959.

Survivors include one daughter, Cathy SCHAUS and husband Steve of Elk Grove, Ill.; two sons, Michael CARR and wife Denise of Fairfield and Mitchell CARR of Libertyville; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandsons, two brothers, his twin Gene CARR of Quincy, Ill., and Earl CARR of Fairfield; and one sister, Jo Ann GILLILAND of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
