"Mrs. Effie Hoskins, 88, died in Des Moines last Wed. Bur. Friends Cemetery, Pleasant Plain. Daughter of Fletcher and Ann Atwood Gowey, born near Brighton Nov 10 1863; married Lindley Hoskins Mar. 6 1890. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Des Moines. He died in 1930. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Earl Dunn of Des Moines, 3 granddaughters, one great granddaughter; two brothers, Terry Gowey of near Brighton and Emmett Gowey of Osceola; one sister Mrs. Rose Howell of Des Moines. Preceded in death by her husband and five sisters."
