"Joel Hoskins, 82, lifelong resident of Jefferson County, died at Jefferson Co. Hospital this morning. Birthright member Friends Church. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery. Son of James and Betsy Jones Hoskins, born Jan 5 1865 west of Pleasant Plain and his entire life was spent in that community. Sept 17 1887 married Ida Sharp who died 11 years ago last April. Married, 2nd, Mrs. Mary Kirkhart, who survives. Father of four children, 3 survive: Mrs. Verle Lundquist and Mrs. Ray Ireland of Fairfield; a son Seth Hoskins of W Pleasant Plain; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Hulda Laurance of Boise, Idaho, and one brother Willis Hoskins of Pomona, Calif. One son, Herman, preceded him in death."
