"James E. Hoskins, son of Moses and Kathrine Hoskins, was born in Clinton Co., Ohio 26 July 1829, died 13 Feb 1911 aged 81-6-18. Moved to Ill. with his parents when a child, again with them in the summer of 1839 settling northwest of Pleasant Plain in Washington County, in which community he lived until death. Married Patsy Jones Dec 12 1851. She survives. 10 children: Lindley M. of Des Moines, Iowa; John who died in infancy; Pleasant of Richland, Iowa; Melinda H. Roberts who died Dec 7 1906; Willis of Claremount, Cal.; Hulda Larrance of Starr, Idaho; Ruth Williams, Olney and Joel of Pleasant Plain, Iowa, and Sarah Elmore of Star, Idaho; also surviving are one brother Franklin, and one sister Mary Jane Hull, 32 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends Church. . . . .Funeral Wed. 11 o'clock Friends Church at Pleasant Plain."
