"Mrs. Clara R. Griffith, 85, 300 S. Sixth St., died May 11 at the Nelson Nursing Home (Fairfield). Private services for relatives were held Sat. 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home. Burial was in Friends Cemetery at Pleasant Plain. Born Nov 10 1880 near Brighton, daughter of Charles and Lutricia Torry Walton. Reared and educated in Washington County. Married Samuel Griffith Feb 12 1902. Member of the Christian Church. Survived by her husband and one son, George Griffith, Oskaloosa. Also surviving are sisters and brother: Mrs. Roberta Wikoff and Mrs. Elsie Madden, Brighton; Mrs. Goldie Jackson, Washington; Mrs. Cora Wilbur, Des Moines; and Otto Walton, Washington. One daughter and one sister are deceased."
