Wayne CLARK, 85, of Batavia, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia.

Wayne C. CLARK

Wayne C. CLARK, 85, of Batavia, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia, with the Rev. Bud Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Batavia Cemetery.

Open visitation begins at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a Masonic service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. CLARK was born March 2, 1925, at home in Winfield, the son of Clinton and Ethel METZGER CLARK. He married Vava Mary HANCOCK Aug. 4, 1949, in Mount Union.

Mr. CLARK was a 1942 graduate of Mount Union High School. The CLARK family moved to the Jefferson County area to farm in 1946, and Mr. CLARK eventually took over farming from his father.

Mr. CLARK was associated with Batavia Methodist Church. He was a 50-year member of Kilwinning Masonic Lodge No. 198 and served as worshipful master in 1962.

His interests included woodworking and NASCAR.

Survivors include two sons: Robert CLARK and wife Sandy of Council Bluffs and Randy CLARK of Batavia; one daughter: Rhonda BLOOMQUIST and husband Daniel of Batavia; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister: Pauline PATTEN of Plantation, Fla.

He was preceded in death by five siblings: Wilma FROMM, Mildred MERIDTH, Arnold CLARK, Harold CLARK and Freda CLARK.
