MRS. KATE FEASEL DIED EARLY TODAY

Mrs. Kate Feasel, 80 years old, the widow of Harley FEASEL, died at the Mt. Pleasant Hospital (sic. in Mt. Pleasant, Henry county, Iowa) at five o'clock this morning. She had been at the Hospital for about four weeks. She was a resident of Fairfield, having lived at 200 West Kirkwood street.

Funeral services will be held Monday at nine a.m., from the Frazey funeral home with Mrs. L.E. Mendenhall. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

MRS. KATE FEASEL DEAD

Mrs. Kate FEASEL died early Saturday morning at the hospital in Mt. Pleasant where she had been for the last four weeks.

Mrs. FEASEL was nearly eighty years of age and was a resident of this city.

Funeral services were held at the Frazey undertaking parlors Monday morning conducted by Mrs. L. E. Mendenhall.

Note: The maiden name, though unconfirmed, is believed to be SURLES. The married surname used in the obituaries is FEASEL; she can also be found under the married surname of FEAZEL. Born about 1834 and died on November 14, 1914. Listed in the Fairfield Daily Journal account as the widow of "Harley FEASEL"; information about him and his burial location has not been conclusively determined. Kate FEASEL was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Row. 4. Space 27. Her burial spot is without a headstone (it is located in the public grounds/rows section of the cemetery).

Note: Catherine 'Kate' had the maiden name of SNIDER, and was the daughter of Isaac SNIDER and Catherine LAWRENCE (per marriage record), born in Ohio in November, 1837. She married George SERLES (SEARLES) in Jefferson County, IA, on October 15, 1883. On April 5, 1909, she married Harley Gordon FEASEL (FEASEAL/FEAZEL) as his second wife, in Wapello Co., IA. George is buried elsewhere in Evergreen Cemetery with his first wife Susan Lowe; Kate was buried with Harley and his first wife Nellie Mullenix (all three in the Public Grounds section).
