John VAN KLAVEREN Jr.

John VAN KLAVEREN Jr., 89, formerly of Pella and the Fairfield area, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2010 (sic - 2011), at Oskaloosa Care Center in Oskaloosa.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Pella. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 5:30-7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Oskaloosa Care Center in Oskaloosa or First Baptist Church in Pella.

Survivors include his wife, U. Arlene MALOY VAN KLAVEREN of Oskaloosa; and two children, Sharon K. PALMER and husband Dennis of Oskaloosa and Larry J. VAN KLAVEREN and wife June of Chesterfield, Mo.

It is my belief that the 2010 death date in the above obituary is an error; the "Herald" simply stated that he passed away "Saturday afternoon". He is not found in the Social Security Death Index with a 2010 death date, but is listed with a 2011 death date, and a birthdate of February 4, 1921.]
