Alfred R. KIRKBRIDE, 89, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at home.

No service is planned. The body has been cremated.

Arrangements are in the care of Behner Funeral Home of Fairfield.

Alfred R. KIRKBRIDE

Alfred R. KIRKBRIDE, 88, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at home.

No service is planned. The body has been cremated. Interment will be at a later date at National Cemetery in Springfield, Mo.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa. Cards and memorials may be sent to June Mellott, 1208 S. Fifth St., Fairfield 52556.

Arrangements are in the care of Behner Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. KIRKBRIDE was born May 2, 1922, in Green City, Mo., the son of George and Julia BANNER KIRKBRIDE.

Mr. KIRKBRIDE had lived in Fairfield since 1940. He had served in the United States Air Force and had been a supervisor of maintenance for 12 years at Crane Manufacturing.

Survivors include four sons: George KIRKBRIDE of Pleasant Hope, Mo., Alfred L. KIRKBRIDE of Tucson, Ariz., Randy KIRKBRIDE of Ankeny and Dickie KIRKBRIDE of Washington, Iowa; one daughter: Mickie JACOVSON of Sant Point, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ira and Alva; and one sister: Fern.
