"Funeral services for Mr. Luna W. Elmore of Baldwin Park, Calif., were held Fri. Apr 23 at the Baldwin Park Funeral Home. Entombment was in the Mt. View Mausoleum, Altadena, Calif. Mr. Elmore passed away Apr 20 in Los Angeles age 90-8-4. He was born Aug 16 in New Market, Tenn., son of William and Martha Elmore. At age 12 he came to Iowa with his family and lived s.w. of Pleasant Plain for 40 years. He and his brothers ran a sorghum factory and sawmill. He was a beekeeper and was State Inspector for several years. On Feb 7 1909 he was married to Ethel Williams of Pleasant Plain, who survives. In Jan 1927 they moved to Pasadena, Calif. where they resided for 20 years, moving to Baldwin Park in 1946. He was a member of Cedar Grove M.E. church at New Market, Tenn., and Clinton Lodge No. 15 A.F. and A.M. at Fairfield, Iowa. He visited relatives in Iowa and Tennessee last summer and celebrated his 90th birthday near his birthplace. Survived by wife; one son, Damon; two grandchildren; 3 grgrchn; five brothers and two sisters: K. M. of Brighton; Burl of Cedar Rapids; Beecher of Fairfield; Raymond of El Monte, Calif.; Mrs. Elizabeth Frain of Brighton, and Mrs. Hazel Parkins of Fairfield."
