"BRIGHTON. Mrs. Martha (Elmore) Elmore, 94, died Sat. at home of son, B. B. Elmore in Cedar Rapids. Omar Hoskins Funeral Home in Brighton. Bur. Friends Cemetery, Pleasant Plain. She was a member of the Friends Church in Pleasant Plain. Born in New Market, Tenn., in 1855, dau. of Peter and Mary McNeese Elmore, and was married to William Elmore Mar. 23 1872. The family moved to Jefferson County in 1886 where they lived southwest of Pleasant Plain until her husband's death Dec 5 1925. . . . .She has since made her home with her two daughters, Mrs. Guy Parkin in Fairfield and Mrs. Joe Frain in Brighton. She is survived by six sons: L. W. Elmore, Baldwin Park, Calif.; Raymond Elmore, Del Monte, Calif.; G. W. Elmore, Pasadena, Calif.; Beacher Elmore, New York City; Kenneth Elmore of Brighton; and B. B. Elmore of Cedar Rapids, and two daughters, Mrs. Parkin and Mrs. Frain. Two children, a son, Fred, and a daughter, Rose, preceded her in death."
