"40 YEARS AGO (1925). William Elmore, 78, died Saturday night. Cancer. Born near New Market, Jefferson County, Tenn., June 7 1847, and died Dec. 5 1925 aged 78 years. In 1886 he moved to Jefferson County near Pleasant Plain where he resided for over 30 years on the same farm except for a few years in Brighton. In the spring of 1924 he moved back to the home place expressing his desire to spend his last days with his son L. W. He leaves his aged wife and nine children. Funeral was held Tues. at the Pleasant Plain Friends church and burial was made there. He was the father of K. M. and Elizabeth Frain of Brighton."
