ELI HARPER DIED SUNDAY MORNING

Eli E. Harper passed away at his home on West Hempstead street yesterday morning about nine o'clock. He had been in poor health for several months, his death being due to heart trouble and complications.

He was born Jan. 25th, 1853, being at the time of his death 66 years and 8 days old.

Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Reuben HARPER of Sioux City, Mrs. S.T. BIDDLE and Miss Kate HARPER of this city.

Short funeral services were held this morning from the home at 9:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. C.L. Tennant and the remains were taken to Trenton, Iowa, where burial services were held at twelve o'clock. Interment was in the cemetery at Trenton.

Note: Evidently Mr. HARPER was married twice, with son Reuben and daughter Mary Ann HARPER BIDDLE being of the first marriage. Daughter Kate Alice HARPER was then of his subsequent marriage to Clara BARNETT HARPER. Eli HARPER was buried in what is now known as Green Mound Cemetery, Henry County, Iowa.
