Anna J. HUMPHREY, 84, died late Sunday afternoon after an illness of several years. For the past year, she had been a resident of the Becker Nursing home at Bonaparte. She had been in poor health and suffered a stroke Saturday. Mrs. HUMPHREY was taken from the nursing home to the Van Buren County Memorial hospital.
Her entire life was spent in Jefferson and Van Buren counties. For many years she lived in the Mt. Zion community southwest (sic) of Libertyville and for the past several years, her home was at Douds. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Orris CAMPBELL of Princeton, Calif., and Arthur CAMPBELL of Libertyville, and one sister, Mrs. Ethel MANNING of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Will HUMPHREY in 1944 and two step-sons, Marion HUMPHREYS and Rollin HUMPHREYS, three brothers and two sisters.
The body is at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Glenn Fuller of Ottumwa officiating. Interment will be in the Winsell cemetery, southwest of Libertyville.
