BARNETT GIRL DIES SUDDENLY

Oscar BARNETT's Young Daughter Dies At Hospital

Lolabelle Marie BARNETT, 10-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar BARNETT, passed away at the Jefferson county hospital at 1:30 this morning. She was taken to the hospital a few days ago suffering from pneumonia.

The funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Rev. D. Eddy of the Free Methodist church will have charge of the services with burial in Evergreen cemetery. The body is now at the Campbell Funeral home.

The BARNETTs live at 1100 South Sixth street. She is survived by her father and mother and six brothers and two sisters at home. She has a married brother, Harley BARNETT who lives in Fairfield, and a brother Kenneth who lives south of Fairfield on a farm. She also has a married sister, Virginia, who lives in Kansas City.

Note: Daughter of Oscar F. BARNETT and Bertha Gay GOULD BARNETT. Her death record in Jefferson county indicates that she was born in "Victora, Illinois". Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Public Grounds Row 8 Space 2.

BARNETT Rites At Free Methodist Church Wednesday

Funearl (sic) services for Miss Lolabelle Marie BARNETT, who died yesterday at the Jefferson county Hospital, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Free Methodist church here. Rev. D. C. Eddy will be in charge. The burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Lolabelle was the 10-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar BARNETT of this city. She died of pneumonia.

OBITUARY

Lolabelle BARNETT

Lolabelle Marie BARNETT passed away Monday, June 25th (sic - June 5th) at 2:15 a.m. at the Jefferson county hospital with pluri (sic - pleural) pneumonia. She was born at Victoria, Illinois October 19, 1922. At the time of her death she was 10 years, 7 months and 19 days old.

She leaves to mourn her death her parents Mr. and Mrs. Oscar BARNETT, eight brothers and two sisters. Harley of Fairfield Kenneth on a farm near Fairfield, Mrs. Virginia PIPER of Kansas City, Kansas. Lester Chester, Harold, Ronald Paul Russell and Betty Joan at home. Four nieces; Ella Mae, Patricia Wilhelmina BARNETT and Beverly Jean PIPER and one nephew Edward BARNETT.

One brother and one sister preceded her in death.

The funeral services were held Wednesday, June 7 at 2 p.m. at the Free Methodist church in charge of Rev. D. C. Eddy. Mrs. Margaret McIntire, Mrs. Beulah Bake, Miss Bernice Behmer and Mrs. Clodene Philips sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus,' "Where Jesus goes with Me I'll Go."

The pallbearer were (sic) Wesley Hamm, Bob Belle, LaVerne BURNETT; Gerald BURNETT; Buster Turner and Bill Fitch. Honorary pallbearers Margaret Hamm, Betty Bell; Ruth Fitch; Mildred Goodman; Doris Blakely and Dorothy Knauss. She was buried at Evergreen cemetery.

Only last winter Lolabelle gave her heart to the Lord, was baptized and joined the Free Methodist church. Her life though young was changed. She greatly delighted to attend the Sunday school every Sunday and was planning to take part in the Childrens Day Program. She was also planning on attending the Bible school, but God saw best to change her plans. He had better things in store for her. Could we push aside the veil that hides our dear little girl from our view, I'm sure we'd keep no man but say "Thy will be done."
