Earl 'Junior' J. ABBEY

Earl "Junior" J. ABBEY, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Suzanne Swahn officiating.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Fairfield Fire Department.

Mr. ABBEY was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Jefferson County, the son of Earl E. and Fanchon WILSON ABBEY. He married Shirley J. BAKER Oct. 1, 1961, in Monmouth, Ill. She died June 8, 2001.

Mr. ABBEY was part owner of Abbey's Shop, which dealt with lawnmowers and repair. He also was a fireman for 29 years.

Mr. ABBEY was affiliated with First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Survivors include three children: Dennis ABBEY of California, Margo ROACH of Kentucky and Brian ABBEY and wife Renea of Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers: Elmer and Bruce ABBEY.
