JANNINGS, Lorraine M. -- Lorraine M. JANNINGS, 89, of Milton, died at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Justin DeVries officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials to Van Buren County Hospital or Milton Christian Church may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 405 N. Union St., Milton 52570.

Mrs. JANNINGS was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Stockport, the daughter of Joseph and Violet HARTER BLAKELEY. She married Waldo E. JANNINGS March 26, 1938, in Keosauqua. He died Feb. 15, 1989.

Mrs. JANNINGS attended Stockport High School. She and her husband farmed in the Milton area of Davis and Van Buren counties before retiring to Troy in 1971. Mrs. JANNINGS moved to Milton following her husband's death. She had worked at Knock-On-Wood Co. in Bloomfield and at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield in the dietary department for 20 years.

Mrs. JANNINGS attended Milton Christian Church. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and 8 Queens Card Club of Bloomfield.

She enjoyed dancing, cooking and helping neighbors and friends.

Survivors include one son, Jerry JANNINGS and wife Verna of New Florence, Mo.; five daughters, Lois BRADLEY and husband Don of Milton, Sharon JOHNSON and husband Darryl of Mason City, Nancy ZEITLER and husband Fred of Douds, Vicky BESCO of Davenport and Julie BUTTELL and husband Mike of Dallas, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne BLAKELEY of Mesa, Ariz.; and two sisters, Theola SAVAGE and Kathryn WATERMAN of Burlington.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gene BLAKELEY; and two sisters, Meda BAILEY and Alberta SCHREPFER.
