FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIES

Last rites will be held at the Presbyterian church at 2:30 p. m. Thursday for Mrs. Mabel Jane WALKER, 58, fomer resident of Fairfield who died suddenly in Ottumwa yesterday.

Rev. Harold J. Drown will be in charge of the services, and will be assisted by Dr. C. R. Douglass, pastor of the Fairfield church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. WALKER passed away at 3:50 p. m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's hospital. Mrs. WALKER had made her home with her daughter in Ottumwa for the past six years.

Mabel Jane WALKER was born June 9, 1890, near Rosetta, Illinois, the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna PENCE. She was united in marriage September 25, 1913, at Burlington, to Ernest [Charles Ernest] WALKER who preceded his wife in death in 1930.

Mrs. WALKER had lived most of her life in Fairfield until she moved to Ottumwa six years ago to make her home with her daughter. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Ottumwa.

She is survived by one son, Robert WALKER, Chicago; three daughters, Pearle WALKER, Ottumwa; Mrs. Ila Mae HEINJE, Ottumwa; and Mrs. Mary Ruth LAWTON, Des Moines; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. WALKER is also survived by two brothers, Charles E. PENCE, Lockridge; Arnold J. PENCE, Washington, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Birdie MICKEY, Lockridge; Mrs. Pearl CLARK, Wayland; and a brother-in-law, Charles S. WALKER, Fairfield.

[Note: Mable is buried in lot 2nd.143 at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield.]
