DIED SUDDENLY IN THE SOUTH
Jack EASTON Passed Away at St. Petersburg, Fla., Early Sunday

Jack EASTON, 38, well known to many Fairfield residents, died suddenly yesterday morning following an appendix operation at St. Petersburg, Fla. At this time funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Mr. EASTON and family moved to Florida during the winter and at the time of his sickness they were planning to return to Fairfield.

He is survived by his wife and two children, Charles and Vera. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Cynthia ERICKSON of St. Petersburg and the following brothers and sisters: Harry A. and George of St. Petersburg; Mrs. Will BARBER of Harlis, Minn.; Mrs. Jacob RINKEL of Centerville and Mrs. Ernest FUQUA of this city.

DEATHS

EASTON FUNERAL

The body of C. Jack EASTON who passed away in Florida Monday following an appendix operation arrived in Fairfield last night accompanied by Charles EASTON.

Mrs. Jack EASTON and daughter have not arrived in Fairfield at this time. Funeral arrangements are pending their arrival.

RITES SUNDAY FOR J. EASTON
Services Will Be Held from Campbell Funeral Home at 5 o'clock

Funeral services for Jack EASTON, who passed away in Tampa, Fla. Sunday, May 31, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 5 o'clock from the Campbell funeral home. Dr. U. S. Smith of the First Methodist church will have charge. Interment in Evergreen cemetery.

OBITUARY

C. JACK EASTON

Cleveland Jack EASTON was the son of Alex M. and Synthy S. DUNN EASTON and was born at Drakesville, Iowa, Nov. 10th 1892 and departed this life May 31st 1931 in the Davis Isle Municipal Hospital of Tampa, Florida at the age of 38 years 7 months and 26 days. He was married to Alice WRIGHT of Albia, Ia., on Feb. 6th 1911. To this union were born one son, Charles A. and one daughter, Vera E.

Mr. EASTON was a well known business man of Fairfield and had made his home here until Jan. 17th 1931 when he with his family went to Tampa, Fla., to spend the winter. He was employed with the United Markets of Tampa, Fla., and was the manager of the meat departments.

He joined the Baptist church at the age of 16 years at Unionville, Mo.

Funeral services were held at Tampa, Florida on June 1st and then the body was shipped here and further funeral arrangements were held on Sunday, June 7th from the Campbell Funeral Home. The minister was Rev. U. S. Smith. The pallbearers were friends of Mr. EASTON. Mr. Leonard Greenfield, Harry Knauss, Clyde Dimmitt, John Zihlman, Gus Uncrich (sic. Unkrich?) and Vern McCumber.

He leaves to mourn his departure his beloved wife and two children, Charles 1 and Vera 16. Also his aged mother Mrs. S. E. ERICHSON of Pinellas Park, Fla., two brothers George of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Harry of Tampa, Fla. All of these were at his bedside when he passed away. Three sisters, Mrs. Wm. BARBER, of Harlis, Minn., Mrs. Jake RENCKLE of Centerville, Ia., and Mrs. Ernest FUQUA of Fairfield.

Besides his relatives he leaves to mourn a host of friends.

RKT note: Buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. 2nd.256. His widow, Alice WRIGHT EASTON, later remarried to a Harry METZ. She is buried with Jack EASTON, however, although the METZ surname also appears on her inscription.
