Tuesday May 27, 1919

JOHN BRYAN DIED HERE LAST EVENING

John BRYAN passed away about 10:00 o'clock last evening, at his home on West Briggs street, his death being due to cancer. Mr. BRYAN has been in very poor health for several months.

Mr. BRYAN was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Newton BRYAN and was born in Jefferson county November 18, 1862. He is survived by his mother, his wife, and several children. He formerly owned the Fairfield pop factory.

Funeral services will be held from the residence tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Rev. C. L. Tennant. Interment will be made in the Evergreen cemetery.

BRYON (sic. BRYAN) FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON

Funeral services for John BRYAN were held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the residence in charge of Rev. C. L. Tennant. The body was laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery.

John BRYAN the son of Mr. and Mrs. Newton BRYAN, was born in Jefferson county, November, 18, 1862. He has spent his entire life in this county with the exception of four years, which he spent in Colorado and Nebraska. On February 13, 1894 he was married to Miss Anna COPELAND. To this union were born three children, Ray of Rock Island, Mrs. Zella SMITH of Des Moines, and Harold at home.

Besides his wife and children he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jeanette BRYAN, of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Eva SCOTT, of near Fairfield, and Mrs. Winnie WEST, of Clarks, Nebraska, and three brothers, Alfred of Creston, Frank of Independence, Kansas, and James, of Los Angeles, California.
