JOHNSON, Barbara Anne -- Barbara Anne JOHNSON, 82, formerly of Des Moines and Ankeny, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Her family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. A memorial service for close friends and family will precede the visitation at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to The Animal Rescue League of Des Moines in her name.

Mrs. JOHNSON was born Aug. 6, 1928, in Fairfield, the daughter of Edward Clark and Marie SMITH.

She loved picnics, fishing, her tiger finches, reading, painting, fashion and the color pink. Barb cherished her grandchildren.

Survivors include her brother, two daughters and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Jack; her daughter-in-law, Michelle; and her son, Kirk Duane.
