DAUB, Leland Andrew -- Leland Andrew DAUB, 90, of Medford, Ore., died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010.

A memorial/graveside service will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Ore., at 3 p.m. Friday.

The family suggests donations in his name to the Alzheimer's Association at PO Box 96011 Washington, D.C. 20090-6011, www.alz.org or 800-272-3900.

Mr. DAUB was born July 17, 1920, in Fairfield, the son of Andrew and Elnora DAUB. After 57 years of marriage, his wife Jean died Sept. 2, 2005.

Mr. DAUB was one of eight children who grew up on a large farm in Fairfield. He had lived in Medford, Ore., for the past seven years and Temecula, Calif., for six years prior to that. He and his wife were longtime residents of Escondido, Calif., where they raised their family and he taught school for 17 years retiring in 1985. More than once he held the honor of "Teacher of the Year."

Prior to teaching, Mr. DAUB served 23 years in the Navy as a civil engineer as part of the Seabees.

He was deeply devoted to his Christian faith and served countless hours in many different ministries.

He and his wife hosted several foreign exchange students throughout the years and opened their home to missionaries home on leave.

He was a gardener and loved being outdoors tending to his yard.

Survivors include three daughters, Karalee NEWBERG and husband Bill of Medford, Ore., Kristen WINDER and husband John of Temecula, Calif., and Kimberly KARN and husband Phil of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Erma STANSBERRY of Fairfield.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eric C. DAUB; four sisters, Gladys BLOOMQUIST, Edna SEARLE, Wilma STANLEY, Louise DuBOIS; two brothers, Raymond DAUB and Robert DAUB; and one grandson.
