Page 2, Column 3BERT BRYAN IS ACCIDENTALLY SHOT.
Bert BRYAN met with a very serious accident yesterday while in the woods near his home southwest of the city.
A friend had given Mr. BRYAN a dog and he thought he would take it to the woods yesterday to see if it would hunt. Accompanying them was a small rat terrier dog which has been a pet for several years. The dogs started to fight and Mr. BRYAN, who had his gun with him, struck the larger with the stock of the shot gun he was carrying, and it is thought struck the trigger of the gun discharging the shot in the thigh of his left leg. He was brought to the Jefferson county hospital where it was found that it was only a flesh wound and that some of the shot had cut the leader. It will be several weeks before he can be taken from the hospital to his home.
