WARNER, Mary LANE -- Mary LANE WARNER, 97, of Bonaparte, died at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren Hospice in Keosauqua.
The funeral is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bonaparte United Church, with the Rev. Richard Eis officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.
Visitation will open at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family present from 5-7 p.m. A P.E.O. service by P.E.O. Chapter AB will follow visitation at 7 p.m.
Memorials to Bonaparte United Church or Bonaparte Historical Society can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 37, Bonaparte 52620.
Mrs. WARNER was born Oct. 31, 1912, in Bonaparte, the daughter of Walter S. and Lula MAIN LANE. She married Kenneth C. WARNER Dec. 22, 1933, in Bonaparte. He died Sept. 12, 1987.
Mrs. WARNER was a 1930 graduate of Bonaparte High School and attended Business College in Fort Madison. She and her husband owned and operated the Bonaparte Mill from 1939-1964. She then worked in the office of Dr. Ewing and later in the Bonaparte Medical Clinic.
She was president of the Bonaparte Historical Society for many years and was instrumental in the restoration of the Aunty Green Museum.
She was a lifetime member of Bonaparte United Church, served as an elder and was a member of United Methodist Women. She was a 75-year member and past president of P.E.O. Chapter AB and a 70-year member and past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Charles WARNER and wife Charla of Bonaparte; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Brooks McGLOTHLEN and infant Grace LANE; and one great-granddaughter.
