Death Comes To Ira C. SCOVEL

Ira C. SCOVEL, lifetime resident of Jefferson county, passed away about 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at his home located at 603 N. Court street. He had been in failing health the past two years and seriously ill one day.

Last rites will be at the Weston Behner Funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday with Dr. J. Henry Teele in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery (sic. Old.P.073).

Ira C. SCOVEL, 77, was born Jan. 4, 1880, near Libertyville, the son of the late George and Hester FRY SCOVEL. He was united in marriage on Dec. 25, 1911, to Nina YOUMANS at Bell Center, Ohio.

He was engaged in farming most all of his life on a farm near Libertyville. At the time of his retirement in 1946 he moved to Fairfield.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert SCOVEL, Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Bruce HOFFMAN (sic. Helen), Fairfield; one grandson and a sister, Mrs. Elmer METZ, Glasgow.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and his parents.
