LUNSFORD, James W. -- James W. LUNSFORD, 82, of Bonaparte, died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Donnellson Health Center in Donnellson.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

LUNSFORD, James William -- James William LUNSFORD, 82, of Bonaparte, died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Donnellson Health Center in Donnellson.

A funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. today at Bonaparte United Church, with the Rev. Richard Eis officiating. Burial, with military honors conducted by the Iowa Army National Guard, was in Bonaparte Cemetery.

Memorials to Bonaparte United Church or Donnellson Health Center may be mailed to the family at 906 First St., Bonaparte 52620.

Arrangements are in the care of Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Mr. LUNSFORD was born Dec. 19, 1927, near Pulaski, the son of Wesley and Jessie FARLEY LUNSFORD. He married Josephine MARTIN June 29, 1948, in Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. LUNSFORD graduated from Troy High School. He worked on the family farm in Davis County and at Dexter Company in Fairfield. He was the plant superintendent at Barker Wire Products in Keosauqua for 35 years until retiring in 1986.

Mr. LUNSFORD served in the Army National Guard from 1947-1949.

He was a member of Bonaparte United Church.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Joseph William LUNSFORD and wife Mickey of Fort Myers, Fla., Ernie Dale LUNSFORD and wife Charlou of Olathe, Kan., Wendell Lee LUNSFORD and wife Elaine of Stockport and James Martin LUNSFORD and wife Laura of Keosauqua; two daughters, Nancy SPERRY and husband Dennis of Danville and Barbara Anne REINIER and husband Rodney of O'Fallon, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald LUNSFORD of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Darrell, Challace and Ronald LUNSFORD; two sisters, Evalee WESTOFF and Bonnie CARLO; and one great-grandson.
