How Emma came to be here is a bit of a story itself. One of her daughters was in the Mount Pleasant (Henry County) nursing home and had Emma's ashes with her. One of our Jefferson County residents was visiting with the daughter, who wanted the visitor to take Emma's ashes and scatter them. Instead of scattering Emma's remains, they were buried in a cemetery close to the visitor's home, which turned out to be Galliher Cemetery, and given a homemade stone for a marker.
Emma LUCACCIONI PAOLI was born July 1, 1912, and died April 12, 2002, in a nursing home in Morton Grove, Cook Co., IL, a northern Chicago suburb. She had lived on North 73rd Ct. in Chicago in the mid-1990s. She is not related to the GALLIHER family in whose cemetery she is buried.
