Note: Some members of the CLINKINBEARD/CLINKENBEARD families of Jefferson county, Iowa chose alternate surname spellings. Emery J. used the CLINKINBEARD surname spelling in life and on his headstone.

CLINKINBEARD Rites Wednesday

Death came early this morning to Emery J. CLINKINBEARD, 92, who moved to Fairfield 11 years ago from Evanston, Ill.

He died at 5:50 a.m. at the Fairfield Convalescent Home where he had been a resident for the past five years.

Funeral services for Mr. CLINKINBEARD will be conducted at the Raymond Funeral Home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Wilson Hyde in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Emery J. CLINKINBEARD was born April 20, 1879, in Jefferson County near Libertyville. He was the son of Mace and Elzada Jane BALDWIN CLINKENBEARD (sic. a/k/a CLINKENBEARD), and was reared and educated in the Libertyville Community.

He was married to Enola KIGER Jan. 31, 1906. She died June 10, 1942. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Pauline HEFLIN, Fairfield; and a number of nieces and newphews (sic. nephews).

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters.

Attend Funeral

Here to attend last rites for Emery J. CLINKINBEARD, 92, from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Frye, Logansport, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Frye, Excelsior Springs, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Admisson, Council Bluffs and Mrs. Guy KIGER of Mount Pleasant.

Mr. CLINKINBEARD died Monday at the Fairfield Convalescent home.
