STECKER, Marty -- Marty STECKER of Fairfield died this morning, Friday, Aug. 27, 2010.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

STECKER, Marty L. -- Marty L. STECKER, 53, of Fairfield, died at 9:04 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, in the Van Buren County Hospital emergency room.

A funeral was held this morning at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. The body has been cremated and will be inurned at a later date.

Gifts may be made to a general memorial and mailed to the family at 602 S. Maple St., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. STECKER was born April 11, 1957, in Keosauqua, the son of Gilbert and Merial PECK STECKER. He married Julianna VAN WINKLE in 1990, and they later divorced. He married Mary FRITZ HILLINGSWORTH Nov. 10, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Mr. STECKER attended Harmony Elementary School thru sixth grade and then moved with his family to Albuquerque, N.M., where he graduated from high school in 1975. He was a self-employed farmer. He also owned and operated a dog kennel.

Mr. STECKER enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Philip STECKER of Salem; three stepchildren, Bridget HOLLINGSWORTH of Fairfield, J.D. HOLLINGSWORTH of Packwood and Brandon KRAMER of Bonaparte; his parents; two sisters, Denise CARLSON of Keosauqua and Tamara LUCERO of Albuquerque, N.M.; and one brother, Eric STECKER of Stockport.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Nellie STECKER and Paul and Loretha PECK.
