Fairfield businessman Leslie ZILLMAN, 75, dies

Leslie ZILLMAN, 75, former longtime Fairfield businessman, died during the night at the home of his nephew, Donald ZILLMAN, 104 N. Park. His death follows an illness of approximately two years.

Services are pending at the Behner Funeral Home.

ZILLMAN was in the auto sales and garage business in Fairfield for a number of years prior to moving to Sun City, Arizona, a few years ago. After his health failed him he returned to Fairfield to make his home with his nephew.

In addition to his business enterprises in Fairfield ZILLMAN owned a considerable amount of land in Jefferson County. He and his brother Earl were the first to introduce the Charolais breed of cattle to Jefferson County in 1965.

At that time the ZILLMAN brothers farmed 950 acres of land in Jefferson County and 450 acres of improved pasture.

ZILLMAN was born and reared in Lockridge Township and moved to Fairfield when he was a young man and was employed in a garage. That was the beginning of his long career in the auto business.
