Death came Saturday to Vernon "Scoop" SCOVEL, 65, Route 3, Fairfield. He died at noon at the Jefferson County Hospital (sic. March 3, 1984).
He had lived his entire life in Jefferson County. He was a farmer and had worked at Rockwell International for 15 years.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Connor will officiate and burial will be in Fell Cemetery south of Libertyville.
Friends may call at the funeral home as they desire and memorials may be made according to wishes of the donor.
Vernon "Scoop" SCOVEL was born April 1, 1918, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Harry L. and Mary BOOTH SCOVEL. He was married to Marjorie P. MCCLEARY July 22, 1939, in Lancaster, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Blake SCOVEL, Keosauqua; Tony SCOVEL, Route 3; three grandchildren, and a brother, Leonard SCOVEL, Chariton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and a grandchild.
