MRS. FOWLER DIES SUDDENLY
Funeral Held This Afternoon From Home Near Fairfield

Funeral services for Mrs. B. F. FOWLER, who passed away late Saturday afternoon at her home six miles northwest of the city, were held at two o'clock this afternoon from the residence, in charge of Rev. S.P. Williamson. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. FOWLER was 70 years of age and her death came as a shock to the members of her family. The family moved to Fairfield last spring from Muscatine.

She is survived by her husband and one son, Roscoe FOWLER, of Muscatine. She also leaves four brothers and two sisters; Frank COOPER of Fairfield, Sam COOPER of Washington, John of Central, Neb., and Robert of Davenport, Miss Mary FOWLER and Mrs. Allie SHREVES of Bloomfield.

OBITUARY

MRS. B. F. FOWLER

Nancy, daughter of Samuel J. and Nancy COOPER, was born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, July 4, 1863. When a small child she moved with her parents to Jefferson county, Ia.

In 1880 she was united in marriage to B. F. FOWLER and to this union were born one son, Roscoe, who survives.

When a young girl she united with the Methodist Episcopal church and has been a loyal member to the last.

Mrs. FOWLER passed away at her home southwest of Fairfield, Saturday at 2:00 o'clock p.m. after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, son and daughter-in-law and one granddaughter, Beatrice J. FOWLER, two sisters, four brothers, nine nieces, four nephews and other relatives.

She was kind and gentle, and to know her was to love her. She will be deeply missed by her family and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the home northwest of Fairfield, on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. S. P. Williamson, minister of the First Christian church. Mrs. Zeigler sang "Lead Kindly Light," and "Abide With Me."

The remains were interred in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.

... Mrs. F. S. SHREVE and daughter Mrs. Thomas STALKUP of Bloomfield who attended the funeral on Monday of Mrs. SHREVE's (sic) sister Mrs. Frank FOWLER returned to their homes this morning after spending the week as guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. S. COOPER and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur COOPER. They were joined Friday by Mrs. SHREVE's daughter Miss Adline SHREVE's (sic) who teaches in Sperry, Iowa, and who will spend the week end in Bloomfield. Miss Mary COOPER of Bloomfield who has been in Fairfield the past week will remain for a longer visit as a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. S. COOPER.

RKT note: Nancy COOPER FOWLER was born July 4, 1863 and died Sept. 23, 1933.

Nancy was originally interred in 2nd.060 at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa; that lot is where her parents (Samuel and Nancy COOPER) are buried. Subsequently, after her husband Benjamin Franklin FOWLER died in Dec. 1934 she was re-interred with him in Old.P.195. They are on the west half of that plot in unmarked graves.
